Our Rivers
Our fly fishing in Jackson Hole features on four different waterways. Which to choose depends on the time of year and the experience you are seeking:
The Snake River: We run full-day and half-day fly fishing trips through different sections of the world-famous Snake River, depending on your needs and desires. The most commonly caught fish on the Snake is the fine-spotted cutthroat trout.
The Green River: Home to brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout, the Green River is known for its gorgeous views. An hour from Jackson, the Green is best fished in the early summer, and is an especially smart choice when early spring snowmelt makes the Snake run high.
The Salt River: A smaller river through Star Valley, the Salt clears earlier than the other local rivers, making it an excellent early season choice. Fly fishing here is also a great option for fall, when large numbers of brown trout move upstream from the Palisades Reservoir. Fine-spotted cutthroat and browns are most common, but brookies and rainbows are occasionally seen.
Fish Creek: At Grand Fishing Adventures, we have exclusive access to the spring creeks on Snake River Ranch. With little pressure on these waters, you can find a private section of water to kick back and enjoy amazing access to cutthroat trout.
Our Trips
At Grand Fishing Adventures, we provide a range of trips to accommodate different levels of fishing experience and interest:
Guided Fly Fishing: Each drift boat, or wade, can accommodate up to 2 anglers along with your guide. Choose a leisurely float or an exciting whitewater fishing trip, depending on your interests. We offer both full-day and half-day experiences.
Spring Creek Wade Fishing: For the ultimate in laid-back, private fishing, choose our Spring Creek Wade Fishing trip, where you and your guide will have water to yourselves.
Scenic Float: Anglers and non-anglers alike will enjoy this educational float down a calm section of the Snake River. Our boats can accommodate up to 5 people, making this an excellent family adventure. You can use our binoculars and wildlife spotting manuals as your guide regales you with tales of the local flora and fauna, as well as a bit of regional history.
Fly Casting Lessons: If you want to learn or perfect the art of fly casting, consider a lesson from our experts. Lessons are available in 1.5-hour increments.
Customized Experiences: Whether you want to go sea kayaking, combine a float trip with a horse pack adventure, or even spend a night along the riverbanks, contact us. We love to create unique experiences that our guests will never forget.
Group Programs: If you are putting together a group or corporate event, let us know how we can help. With a 1:4 instructor to student ratio, we can lead seminars or classes on fishing techniques, casting, knot tying, choosing rods and reels, or many other topics. A minimum of 8 participants is required.
