Snake River Fishing

Mid-August Fishing Report

A successful day on Fish creek.

It’s terrestrial season on the Snake!  We have seen lots of grasshoppers and crane flies, think foam.  The trusty chubby chernobyl will bring a fish to the top.  In the mornings PMD’s and caddis are flying and a good option.  In general, the fishing has been best midday when the temperatures warm a bit.  Streamers can also be effective when fished on banks and structure.

The fishing on the spring creeks continues to be good.  PMD’s, hoppers and chubbies are getting big fish to the surface on these beautiful little stretches of water.

The Green has seen a lot of pressure this season and the fish are getting picky.  We are seeing trout on terrestrials – hoppers and beetles – and PMD’s.  Get there early as the fishing is the best in the morning.
